Womble Bond Dickinson created the IP co-op program to provide career awareness opportunities for various IP careers at a law firm for diverse students from science and technical backgrounds.

Through the IP co-op program, upper-level undergraduate as well as Master’s-level students can participate in dedicated professional development sessions and networking events across the firm. In addition, IP co-ops complete hands-on work that will provide them with unique experiences and insight into the resources available at a law firm.

  • Womble Bond Dickinson’s IP co-op program occurs over two or three alternating semesters (ex. one semester working, one semester at school, one semester working) and takes place in the firm’s North Carolina offices including Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Raleigh, RTP and Greensboro. IP co-op students will work with and learn from a variety of IP professionals to expand their learning experience and provide them with a range of networking opportunities.
  • Through the IP co-op program, students will build a network within their team and with their assigned mentor. IP co-op students will also be invited to office and firm events.
  • Candidates eager to learn about IP careers at a law firm and to develop their professional skills are encouraged to apply to the firm’s IP co-op program. Candidates who are proactive, driven and have a growth mindset will be successful in this program.

Womble Bond Dickinson attends recruiting events throughout the fall and spring semesters to connect with students in person and virtually about the IP co-op program. Events will also be hosted in partnership with the firm’s HBCU Succeed program to share information about the program with students from our partner HBCUs. In addition, candidates are encouraged to apply through our Careers page using the IP Co-op job postings here. If you have questions about the IP co-op program, please contact the Internship Program Manager.
