    Examples of work
    • We advised Highways England on a collaborative procurement with its Dutch counterpart for an integrated solution to be incorporated into the Regional Traffic Management Centres in each country
    • The Education and Skills Funding Agency and Department for Education sought our advice on the flagship Free Schools programme, which includes UTCs and Studio Schools. Our work includes advising on site acquisition, construction, procurement, planning, tax and miscellaneous commercial matters. We advise on free school projects right across England, including many schemes in London
    • We have assisted the Ministry of Justice on a range of projects ranging from the outsourcing of a number of its back office functions through to procurements of court reporting, transcription and translation services
    • Our team has advised  the Insolvency Service, HMRC and collaborated with other public bodies including the FCA, the Pensions Regulator and the Charities Commission by assisting them in the public interest winding up of live companies, typically involved in a wide variety of investment and other scams, the investigation and disqualification of directors of insolvent companies and the recovery of assets
    • We assisted the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in the investigation and disqualification of the former director of a company which contrived and facilitated a multi-million-pound pension-scheme abandonment, involving close liaison with The Pensions Regulator
    • We advised on the development of the backstop power purchase agreement - a key part of UK Government's drive to increase liquidity in the electricity market, to make it more accessible to independent low-carbon generators and electricity suppliers. This advice involved working with DECC (now part of BEIS) in developing a route to market for low-carbon generators
    • Our team assisted a central government department on a number of key site disposals for development, including helping the client to successfully resist a threatened procurement challenge from a disgruntled developer bidding for one of the sites
    • We advised  the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) on a range of information governance issues including advising on directions from the Secretary of State and NHS England.
