Will has over 25 years' experience of dealing with disputes of all natures (except personal injury) and the resolution of them by all means including litigation, arbitration, mediation, independent tribunal, private expert determination and straightforward negotiation. He trained at Farrer & Co when he was a general disputes partner for 10 years. He was subsequently a partner in Boodle Hatfield's tier 1 ranked Contentious Trusts and Estates team for 7 years. He has published articles on contentious trusts and estates matters in Trusts and Trustees (Oxford University Press), Trusts and Estates Law and Tax Journal and on Lexology. He has also spoken at a number of Legal Week Trusts and Estates Conferences in Provence.

Although Will has particular expertise in contentious trusts and estates matters, he is highly respected within the profession and maintains a strong general practice including contractual dispute, fraud, professional negligence, professional discipline and employment.

Experience

Experience includes advising:

B – in litigation in Bermuda and England initiated by his brother in relation to the family trust
Kelton – in a claim brought by her late father's mistress for sums said to be due under his Will on the basis that they were living together as man and wife when he died, alternatively provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
Cook – who was a highly successful private equity employee in an ICC arbitration concerning his US employer's failure to pay him his bonus
K – who was the founder of a private equity fund in a negligence claim against his former solicitors concerning their advice that he put his shares in a Jersey trust
W – who is an employment/talent agency in proceedings against a reality TV star who breached her contract with the client.
