Soo focuses her practice on developing intellectual property strategies for clients in the life sciences. She has advised clients in the fields of gene editing (e.g., CRISPR, RNA interference, antisense), immuno-oncology, immunology, gene therapy, protein therapeutics, and molecular diagnostics/assay systems. Soo has extensive experience in drafting patent applications as well as in prosecuting patents and managing patent portfolios world-wide. She is also experienced in conducting due diligence analyses in connection with providing opinions (e.g., freedom-to-operate, patentability, and infringement opinions), and analyses associated with corporate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Soo was a science advisor, and later an associate at an international law firm. Prior to entering the legal field, Soo gained experience at an intellectual property search firm where she performed patent and scientific literature searches for prior art, freedom-to-operate, and competitive landscape analyses.

Soo’s doctoral research focused on modulation of the inflammatory pathway -through regulation of tumor necrosis factor-alpha secretion.

Soo is proficient in Korean.
