Ruth joined the restructuring and insolvency team in 2004.
She specialises in investigative work and directors' disqualification undertaken for The Insolvency Service, an executive agency of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. Ruth has significant experience of investigating complex failures often involving fraud and compliance issues within the financial services industry, as well as shadow and de facto directors.
Prior to joining the firm, Ruth trained and practised as a solicitor in London. She has six years’ experience of commercial litigation and employment law, acting on behalf of both employers (including financial services providers) and employees (including directors). She has also acted on behalf of clients at a public enquiry.
Examples of experience include advising:
- The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in relation to the investigation of the conduct of directors of companies operating in regulated sectors including allegations of serious breaches of OFT/FCA rules and guidance;
- The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in relation to the investigation of allegations of shadow and/or de facto directorship.
