Matt Grumbling specializes in providing comprehensive counsel on intellectual property matters. His experience spans all stages of patent portfolio strategy, including patent diligence and freedom-to-operate analysis, patentability assessments, patent drafting and prosecution, IP procurement and licensing, and pre-litigation counseling.
Matt works with clients across various technological fields, such as pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, biologics, biochemistry, alternative medicine, and food science, with a particular focus on startup biotech and pharmaceutical innovations.
Matt began his IP career at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he served as a primary examiner in Group 1600, specializing in small molecule chemistry. His diverse background also includes roles as an electronics technician (ET) in the US Navy Reserve and as a chemical compounder at a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer.
