Jeff Guise is a patent strategist with over 30 years of experience partnering with clients to build, manage, and protect their global IP portfolios. With a doctorate in molecular biology and immunology, he primarily helps start-up and middle-market pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology companies build, enforce, and monetize their patent portfolios. He also conducts and advises on IP-related transactional matters and assessments, IP acquisition and licensing, non-infringement and validity opinions, freedom to operate analyses, and invention records management plans.
Jeff’s technical experience enables him to truly understand the technologies his clients invent so he can best protect them. He has worked with highly sophisticated innovations and inventions for a wide range of biotechnology, medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, immunology, genetic engineering, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics software, agricultural biotechnology, and electronic hardware systems.
When needed, Jeff has enforced IP through litigation, including pre-trial and trial experience, interference proceedings, and litigation counseling. He is admitted and has successfully tried cases in several U.S. district courts, courts of appeals, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
