When science and the law converge, Carl is there to help Life Science companies prepare patents and monetize their intellectual property.
Carl develops intellectual property protection processes, from conception through patent issuance and commercialization of products, on behalf of chemical, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies. In the role of strategic counselor for life sciences firms with extensive patent portfolios, he has represented companies developing and marketing small molecule drugs, as well as those developing therapeutic and diagnostic biotechnology. His practice includes counseling companies developing cancer immunotherapies, as well as diagnostic tests and companion diagnostics/theranostics. Carl also has prepared applications and prosecuted patents relating to novel nucleic acids, proteins, antibodies, vaccines, transgenic animals, and gene therapy.
He has helped universities, including Duke, U.C. Berkeley, Emory and Harvard, manage and explore ways to exploit their patent portfolios.
Any result the lawyer or law firm may have achieved on behalf of clients in other matters does not necessarily indicate similar results can be obtained for other clients.
