Barbara Krause has more than 35 years of legal and administrative experience with a focus on employment and student affairs matters in higher education, including Title IX. She has experience representing public and private clients in a broad range of legal issues including employment matters, Americans with Disabilities Act, student and teacher disciplinary matters, affirmative action plans, and Title IX matters. She has represented higher education, school, municipal, and private employer clients before courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration panels.


Prior to joining the firm, Barbara held positions at several higher education institutions including Cornell University, Skidmore College and Appalachian State University. Earlier in her career, she was a partner at a Portland, Maine law firm, where her practice focused on education and public sector clients. Her background allows for a deep understanding of the needs of clients in the education sector.


Before attending law school, Barbara played semi-professional basketball for two years in Dorsten, Germany. While in Germany, she also coached youth basketball teams and taught English at a local high school.
