Anya is an experienced regulatory and securities lawyer in the financial services industry. Her experience has been primarily in-house with Capital Group providing legal advice to the investment adviser, broker-dealer and transfer agent subsidiaries on various corporate, securities and compliance issues. Anya also has private practice experience representing investment advisers, broker-dealers and hedge funds.

Anya began her legal career in the international section of the Office of Chief Counsel at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC where she worked on policy issues arising under the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act of 1940. As a law clerk, Anya worked for a global consulting firm in Moscow, Russia, having prepared a private placement memorandum for a Russian oil and gas company. More recently she has focused on dispute resolution through her role as a FINRA arbitrator.

Anya is active in the Women’s Bar Foundation and has been a Volunteer Attorney in the Elder Law Project for the last four years. Additionally, she is an active school council member of the Williams Middle and Longmeadow High Schools.

Anya is fluent in Russian.
