DENVER (September 22, 2022) – Lewis Roca Litigation partner, Michael D. Plachy, has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Plachy, recognized for his distinguished litigation practice and trial experience, joins six other Lewis Roca lawyers as a Fellow in this prestigious organization that addresses issues and legislation affecting the American judicial litigation process.
Plachy represents companies and clients in civil lawsuits involving significant financial or reputational exposure. He has also tried many complex commercial, real estate, construction, product liability, and class action cases. He also regularly advises businesses concerning corporate governance, risk management, and strategic planning issues.
Active in the community, Plachy has served as a member of the Colorado Commission for Higher Education, the University of Colorado Foundation Board of Trustees, and is on the advisory board for the University of Colorado Cancer Center. He is also a co-founder and organizer of the Race for Research, an annual charitable event that has raised more than $1M for cancer research.
Plachy has consistently been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for mass tort litigation/class actions, and as a Colorado Super Lawyer for business litigation. He has also been named a Benchmark Litigation Local Litigation Star and was named the 2008 “Lawyer of the Year” by Law Week Colorado. Plachy received his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, Order of the Coif, and his B.S. (Finance) from the University of Colorado.
