WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Womble Carlyle recently was honored for the firm’s long-time support of the Work Family Resource Center.

The Work Family Resource Center is a private, non-profit organization that provides consumer education, referrals and resources to promote quality child care in our community. The organization helps parents find quality child care, helps income eligible parents access financial assistance to pay for the cost of child care, provides enhanced services to businesses and individuals, provides technical assistance and support to improve the quality of child care programs, maintains a database of more than 400 legally operating child care options, and collects and distributes information on the supply of and demand for child care.

Womble Carlyle has been a supporter of the Work Family Resource Center since it began in 1991. Currently, attorney Loryn Buckner serves on the Work Family Resource Center Board of Directors.

Winston-Salem Office Managing Partner Bill Whitehurst accepted the 2016 Donna Lambeth Children’s Award from the Work Family Resource Center on behalf of the firm at an April 26th luncheon.

Other award recipients were Inmar, The Junior League of Winston Salem, the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, Northwest Child Development Council, Reynolds American, United Way of Forsyth County, Wake Forest University, The Winston Salem Foundation, and The Z Smith Reynolds Foundation.
