ATLANTA—Womble Carlyle Real Estate attorney Joe Foltz recently closed the $28 million sale of one of the top resorts in the western United States.

Foltz represented Kessler Enterprises and developer Richard Kessler in selling the 15,000-acre Kessler Canyon ranch in Colorado to tech industry entrepreneur Peter Kight. The 20,000-square-foot lodge in the Rocky Mountains features eight guest rooms, a VIP suite, spa and wraparound porch. The property also features a 7,000-square-foot guest house, two cabins and a shooting pavilion.

The Wall Street Journal reported on the successful transaction, which closed in January 2017.

Foltz has represented Richard Kessler and his related entities for more than 25 years. Currently, Foltz and a Womble Carlyle team are representing Mr. Kessler in an innovative $275 million redevelopment project in Savannah. The Plant Riverside development will be anchored by a boutique hotel housed in a vintage 1910 brick decommissioned Savannah Electric Power Plant.
