Womble Carlyle attorney Bill Ragland has been named to Intellectual Asset Management magazine’s IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists for 2014.

IAM researchers in the United States, Europe and Asia spoke to a wide range of senior corporate IP managers, as well as third-party IP service providers, in order to identify these IP leaders: men and women whose business is the creation, development and deployment of strategies that enable IP owners to gain maximum value from their portfolios. Only those individuals nominated multiple times by different parties as outstanding IP strategists are listed in the IAM Strategy 300.

The 2014 edition includes professionals in areas such as brokering, defensive patent aggregation, finance, insurance, management consultancy, the law, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, tax and valuation.

Earlier this year, Ragland also was named, “Lawyer of the Year” for Technology Law in the Atlanta market by Best Lawyers in America and to the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners.  He is also recommended and listed by Chambers USA for Intellectual Property and Litigation.

Bill Ragland is among Womble Carlyle’s most experienced lead litigators and trial lawyers, with particular experience in patent and intellectual property litigation. He has litigated more than 50 patent infringement and other patent-related cases in his 28-year career. Ragland also provides strategic advice regarding the structure, negotiation and implementation of intellectual property enforcement and licensing programs and portfolio management services. Ragland is a founder of  the Atlanta Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section and served as its first co-chair, and is a past president of the Atlanta Bar Association.
