This is an exciting week at Womble Carlyle and Bond Dickinson! The firms are working together to recognize the week of March 20th as International Innovation Week.
As part of these efforts, the two firms have assembled a week-long series of short programs designed to stimulate innovative, critical thinking.
All sessions will be offered firm-wide (and throughout Bond Dickinson) via video conference. The schedule of events is as follows:
- Monday, March 20—“An Introduction to the Internet of Things.” In this session, Ted Claypoole and Malcolm Dowden will discuss the legal, business and privacy implications of real-time data capture.
- Tuesday, March 21—“Beyond the Hype: Artificial Intelligence in Legal Research Innovation.” For this session, ROSS Intelligence CEO and co-founder Andrew Arruda will speak to both firms. What is AI and how can it be employed in legal research and other applications? How can it improve efficiencies and enhance client satisfaction?
- Wednesday, March 22—“Beta Blitz.” So what is “design thinking” anyway? It must be experienced to be fully understood, but this Beta Blitz event employs well-tested Design Thinking methods from the Stanford Design School in a series of creative, hands-on exercises. Jack Hicks will facilitate this session from Bond Dickinson’s London office
- Thursday, March 23— “What’s Next on the Innovation Horizon? Autonomous ships?” Former Royal Navy office Patrick Dowsett of the Mayflower Autonomous Ship project will join both firms for a discussion of this mind-blowing initiative. In 2020, the unmanned Mayflower Autonomous Ship is scheduled to sail across the Atlantic
