Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Susan Ramos was among the speakers at the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Annual Conference on Immigration Law.

Ramos took part in a panel discussion on “Naturalization 101”. Panelists covered who is eligible to become a naturalized U.S. citizen, the basic requirements, and the process for naturalization. They also discussed the impact longer processing times and USCIS policy changes can have for clients. Finally, the panelists identified circumstances when filing an N-400 is not in the best interests of the client.

The virtual panel discussion took place July 20. US Sen. Tim Kaine was the keynote speaker for the event.
