On November 7, 15 Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys from the Raleigh and Research Triangle Park offices volunteered to help the North Carolina Bar Foundation “Clear the Cue”.
The NC Free Legal Answers effort provides limited assistance to financially eligible clients through an online portal. The clients ask the questions, and attorneys respond free of charge. Practice areas represented by NC Free Legal Answers are: Family/Divorce/Custody, Housing, Debts & Purchases, Work (Employment), Workers Compensation, Wills/Inheritance, Benefits, Health Care, Medicaid/Medicare/Affordable Care Act, Natural Disaster, Personal Injury, Expungement, Special Education, School Discipline, Immigration, Civil/Constitutional Rights, Emancipation & Delinquency, and Military/Veteran.
NC Free Legal Answers is a pro bono program offered by the North Carolina Bar Foundation. The Womble Bond Dickinson team answered 37 questions during the “Clear the Cue” event. In all, 31 Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys have registered for NC Free Legal Answers, answering a total of 49 questions.
Attorneys David Boaz and Jon Mize organized the firm’s participation in the “Clear the Cue” event, which helped NC Free Legal Answers clear the queue of backlogged questions. Other Womble Bond Dickinson participants in the pro bono event included Scott D. Anderson, Ray Bennett, Savannah Best, Paul Billow, Taylor Ey, Larry Moye, Orla O’Hannaidh, Richard Prosser, Kim Richmond, Anna Short-Slightom, Mike Thelen, Madison Waller and Jill Walters.
Volunteers also enjoyed some ‘cue – barbecue, that is, in the form of a North Carolina barbecue lunch.
