WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Womble Carlyle was well-represented in the 2016 Winston-Salem Heart & Stroke Walk.
More than 50 team members and their families took part in the walk, which raised money and awareness for the American Heart Association (AHA). Womble Carlyle volunteers also manned a Kid’s Zone with games and activities for children to play throughout the morning.
Womble Carlyle Winston-Salem Office Managing Partner Bill Whitehurst is serving as Event Chair of the 2017 Winston-Salem Heart Ball and leads the “Lawyers Have Heart, Too Campaign”, an initiative to encourage individual donations to the AHA from attorneys and law firms throughout Forsyth County.
This year’s Heart Walk raised $630,000 in total, beating the event’s fundraising goal of $600,000.
The AHA uses proceeds from the Heart Walk to educate people about preventing cardiovascular disease and stroke, fund research on congenital heart defects, and promote healthier lifestyles for everyone!
