The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) has had a major effect on the collection and reporting of consumer data. The consumer privacy law, which went into effect Jan. 1, 2020, can impact businesses even if they don’t have employees or locations in California.

Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Tara Cho leads the firm’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Team and has been closely tracking the CCPA for years. On Sept. 17, she will speak on “Early Lessons from California’s Consumer Privacy Act” at the 2020 Privacy & Data Security Section CLE presented by the North Carolina Bar Association.

Cho will be joined in the presentation by Belk Senior Director-Legal Counsel and former Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Alysja Carlisle.
