WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Police officers put their lives on the line every time they don the uniform. Womble Carlyle attorney Sonny Haynes is part of a local effort in Winston-Salem to show support for the local police, as well as to foster communication between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Haynes is a Board Member of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation, which was formed in May 2015. The Foundation is a charitable organization that provides additional funding to the Winston-Salem Police Department for equipment, training, technology and community outreach programs.

She joins a diverse group of other local business and civic leaders, representing such industries as healthcare, banking and journalism.

Sonny Haynes’ litigation practice includes representing local governmental bodies, law enforcement agencies, and local elected officials. She has experience litigating constitutional claims under Section 1983, employment discrimination claims, and wrongful death cases. Haynes practices in Womble Carlyle’s Winston-Salem office.
