WINSTON-SALEM, NC—Womble Bond Dickinson partner Sonny Haynes has been named one of the American Bar Association’s 2019 On the Rise Award winners.
The ABA On the Rise Awards program is a national honor recognizing 40 young lawyers who are 36 years old or younger with demonstrated high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service. Honorees must be ABA members who are nominated for the award by others.
Winners include in-house counsel, law firm partners, as well as other private practice and public interest attorneys. The awards are presented by the ABA Young Lawyers Division. Honorees will be recognized at an awards breakfast on August 10 during the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
Haynes, a litigation attorney in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Winston-Salem office, has been named a North Carolina Rising Star by Super Lawyers each of the past four years. She was also chosen to represent the firm in the 2018 Class of Fellows of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
Sonny Haynes is an experienced litigation attorney who guides clients through federal and state disputes, including appeals. Her practice includes insurance defense, product liability and mass tort litigation, local government defense, and education and school law.
