Sara Mariska and Aaron Frank earned rezoning approval from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to allow for residential development just outside of Tysons, VA. The process that began as an ordinary rezoning was soon modified due to public gathering restrictions in response to COVID-19. Initial stakeholder meetings (pre-COVID) were held in person, although the necessary presentations to the County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors were held in a virtual format. In particular, the video feed for these meetings was about 30 seconds delayed from real-time audio, creating a unique environment to present the justification and respond to comments from members of those bodies or the public. Sara and Aaron ultimately earned unanimous approval, allowing the client to make better use of their property while providing improvements that appealed to decision-makers at the County.

Sara Mariska is a land use and zoning lawyer, and Aaron Frank is a land planner for the firm, who both assist clients in obtaining zoning entitlements, strategic property analysis, and other services in all phases of the land use and development processes.
