Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Ripley Rand was the first presenter in North Carolina’s new On Demand Expert Series CLE with his session on the history of special prosecutions in the federal court system. Rand, the former United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina, was interviewed by Mary Miller, an award-winning journalist and founder of the North Carolina Newsroom Group, for “The Special Cases of Special Counsel: Special Prosecutions and American History.” In the hour-long CLE, Rand and Miller trace the development of special prosecutions from the post-Civil War founding of the Department of Justice, through Watergate and up to the current Special Counsel’s Office.
