ATLANTA—Womble Carlyle attorney Michael Sullivan was featured in the January 2016 issue of The Furniture Executive, a publication of the American Home Furnishings Alliance.

In the article, AHFA Chairman Kevin O’Connor discusses Sullivan’s presentation (with Womble Carlyle attorney Whitney Passmore) on “Lumber Liquidators and its Aftermath: Essential Lessons You Should Learn.” Their presentation took place at the recent AHFA Annual Meeting.

In the presentation, Sullivan and asked such questions as:

  • What are the scientific issues behind furniture industry product regulations? Can companies explain the science to their customers and the media?
  • How do regulatory issues impact furniture industry suppliers? Can they ensure compliance with these regulations?
  • Would outside observers perceive furniture industry companies as embracing of health and safety regulations?
  • Do companies document their good work in the health, safety and environmental fields?

Sullivan brings nearly three decades of experience in “bet-the-company” cases. He serves in the role of “outside General Counsel” or Coordinating Counsel, providing big-picture advice to craft successful litigation strategies, increase efficiencies and contain costs.
