BALTIMORE—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Barry Herman is a 2018 Leadership in the Law honoree, as awarded by the Maryland Daily Record.
The Leadership in the Law program evaluates lawyers based on career accomplishments, community involvement, and mentoring activities. Daily Record publisher Suzanne Fischer-Huettner said, “ Our Leadership in Law honorees are committed to excellence. They work tirelessly to uphold high legal standards in Maryland and devote much time serving as mentors to the next generation of legal professionals.”
Herman is a veteran intellectual property litigator who tries cases in district courts throughout the country, at the USPTO, and at the ITC. His recent experience includes leading a team that represented DynaEnergetics US, Inc. in a series of patent and trademark litigation victories over an energy industry competitor.
Before becoming an attorney, he worked for several years as a chemical engineer.
In the community, he serves on the Board of Directors of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore and the Lehigh Lawyers Association. He also is the immediate past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section.
