CHARLESTON, S.C.-- The SCBIO 2018 Annual Conference will be the premier gathering of educators, industry leaders and government officials in South Carolina’s biotech and pharmaceutical sector. Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Stephanie Yarbrough is serving as Chair of this year’s conference, and attendees can expect a top-flight array of speakers and programs.

Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Alexandra Villarreal O’Rourke will moderate a panel discussion on “Data & IT: The New Currency of Healthcare." Stephanie Yarbrough has played a role in many of South Carolina’s largest economic development deals of the past 20 years. She works closely with companies seeking to expand or relocate operations to the Carolinas and the Southeastern United States. Her efforts on behalf of clients have led to the creation of thousands of new jobs and billions of dollars in new investments. When the New York Times profiled Charleston’s economic boom in 2017, Yarbrough was one of the local leaders the Times turned to for insight.

Alexandra Villarreal O’Rourke leads Womble Bond Dickinson’s Financial Regulatory team and co-leads the firm’s Fintech team. She draws upon her background in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to advise clients on mission-critical compliance questions and risk management as well as state and federal financial regulatory engagement, investigations, and enforcement. She also has significant experience on Fintech and Artificial Intelligence regulatory matters and helps clients navigate the evolving legal terrains on those topics.
