GREENSBORO, NC—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Kristina Schwartz is the newly elected Board Chair of the National Conference for Community and Justice of the Piedmont Triad, Inc. (NCCJ). Schwartz has served on the NCCJ Board of Directors, which consists of 40 diverse individuals from many backgrounds, since 2016.

Founded in 1927, the NCCJ is “a human relations organization that promotes inclusion and acceptance by providing education and advocacy while building communities that are respectful and just for all.” The organization’s programs include interfaith study groups, anti-bullying training and inclusion-focused workplace initiatives.

NCCJ’s flagship program is ANYTOWN, a week-long residential summer program. ANYTOWN provides local high school students the opportunity to live and interact with a diverse group of peers who come together to build a community based on inclusivity, respect and understanding. The days are full of engaging workshops and intense discussion groups, along with games and electives.

Womble Bond Dickinson’s involvement with NCCJ began in 1951, when attorney Irving Carlyle joined the organization’s Board of Directors. Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Jack Hicks and his wife, Sharon Hicks, both recently served terms on the NCCJ Board.

In addition, Womble Bond Dickinson is a long-time annual sponsor of the NCCJ Brotherhood/Sisterhood Citation Award Dinner. This event typically attracts more than 1,000 participants from across Guilford County.

Kristina Schwartz advises companies of various market capitalizations and industries in corporate and commercial transactions and general business matters. Her practice focuses on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and commercial contracts. She has deep experience with cross-border transactions, private investment funds and clients in the technology and manufacturing sectors.
