WASHINGTON, D.C.—The effective date for the FCC’s new online public file rules is June 24th. Most large-market US commercial stations must start using the new online public file database as that date.

Womble Carlyle attorney John Garziglia has been closely following updates in online public filing, and recently discussed the changes with Radio + Television Business Report.

“The station should complete the required information on the FCC’s online public file website concerning contact information for a station representative, and the address and phone number of the station’s main studio. Also, on June 24th, the station should post a link on its station’s website to the first page URL of the station’s new FCC online public file,” Garziglia said.
