Donald Trump’s recent appearance on “Saturday Night Live” drew blockbuster ratings for NBC—and potentially opened up a can of worms for the network in the form of equal time for other Presidential candidates.

Now, two candidates—John Kasich and Lindsey Graham—say they want equal time on NBC. Womble Carlyle telecom attorney John Garziglia tells The Hollywood Reporter that the issue may not be so simple for Kasich and Graham.

Garziglia says the television stations, not the network, are required to provide equal time. Also, some shows fall under the equal time requirement, while others don’t. Finally, the actual definition who is a candidate can be a factor in determining equal time.
