WASHINGTON, D.C.—At the FCC’s September Commissioners’ meeting, the regulatory body announced that it would seek to “relax certain technical rules applicable to AM broadcasters operating directional antenna arrays.”

Womble Carlyle Telecom attorney John Garziglia discussed the proposed change with Communications Daily, saying that the item likely will not be controversial and came about as part of the FCC’s AM revitalization efforts.

Garziglia tells Communications Daily that “the item is expected to involve changes to the way the contours of AM stations are calculated.”
