HOUSTON — Womble Bond Dickinson is proud to announce Jeff Whittle and Paul Turner have been named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America (BL Rankings). Whittle’s recognition is in the area of Technology Law and Turner is recognized for Derivatives and Futures Law.
Whittle is a veteran intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on the Energy and Technology sectors. He is the Office Managing Partner for Womble Bond Dickinson’s Houston office and a co-lead of the firm’s Energy Sector team. He has been recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500 United States, WIPR Leaders, and Client Choice, among others, for his outstanding work, career and contributions to law, technology, and intellectual property. Additionally, he was awarded the Texas Trailblazer Award as a Texas Lawyer in 2019, he was the Frank Barnes Award Winner for LES USA/Canada in 2019, and he was named Global IP Attorney of the Year by Legal Era in 2018.
A Partner in the Corporate & Securities practice group, Turner’s work focuses on advising clients involved in commodities trading, particularly energy commodities. This is the fourth time Turner has received the “Lawyer of the Year” recognition for Derivatives and Futures Law. He has been included in the Houston Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy Guide” in 2016-2017 and 2014-2015. He was also selected to the BTI “Client Service All Star” list in 2016.
Whittle and Turner are two of 18 Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys to be named a “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America (BL Rankings) and among 199 from the firm to make Best Lawyers’ 2021 overall list.
