Tony Guerino, a 20+ year veteran of Texas’ energy and environmental litigation arena, is the latest addition to the firm’s new Houston office.

HOUSTON—Womble Bond Dickinson has added to its new Houston office a veteran local energy/environmental litigation partner, Tony Guerino.

Guerino brings more than 20 years of experience in energy and environmental litigation involving oil exploration and production disputes. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked as a petroleum and natural gas engineer, giving him a background in many of the technical aspects of his clients’ industry. In addition to serving as lead counsel in energy exploration and production litigation, Guerino also represents energy industry clients in contract disputes and business torts. In 2011, he was named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, one of the state’s top legal industry honors.

On Jan. 29, Womble Bond Dickinson announced the opening of the Houston office, which will initially focus on serving the global energy, advanced manufacturing, technology, and life sciences sectors. Guerino joins a team that includes Houston Office Managing Partner Jeffrey Whittle as well as attorneys Josh Davis, Liz Riley, Paul Turner, Mark Shelley and Kristin Lamb.

“Tony is an incredible addition to our Houston office and Texas strategy. He has long been trusted by some of the country’s largest energy companies with high exposure and sensitive disputes, and we are thrilled that he is bringing his top tier practice to Womble,” said Chris Jones, leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Business Litigation Practice Group. “Our team has more than 300 attorneys who focus on litigation and dispute resolution–Tony is joining an experienced team with the ability to handle difficult litigation challenges.”

“Our goal in opening the Houston office was to provide clients with a range of transactional, intellectual property and litigation services. Tony gives us the litigation component of that triangle, with a deep knowledge of the energy sector and the local market,” said Joe Tirone, co-leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Energy and Natural Resources Sector Team.

“We are thrilled to have a top energy and commercial litigator of Tony’s caliber join our growing Houston office,” said Jeffrey Whittle, Office Managing Partner for the Houston office of Womble Bond Dickinson. “We are looking forward to Tony’s leadership in this area and providing clients with energy industry-focused and high quality litigation services from our Houston office to meet their needs.”
