AUSTIN, TEXAS—When it comes to political advertising, it pays to know the rules. Broadcasters need to be up to date on the FCC’s often complex political broadcast regulations.

With that in mind, Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Gregg Skall recently gave a free 90-minute Political Advertising Webinar to members of the Texas Association of Broadcasters. Skall discussed such topics as:

  • Rates for political ads;
  • Candidate access;
  • Uses and the four newsroom exemptions to the use rule;
  • Proper sponsorship identification; and
  • Record-keeping for the station’s online political file.
