On Wednesday, Womble Carlyle announced a global alliance with prominent UK firm Bond Dickinson. That announcement attracted significant media coverage on both sides of the Atlantic. In the Wall Street Journal, for example, reporter Sara Randazzo wrote, “Many US firms have struck up alliances in Asia, but we don’t recall seeing a similar deal done between the US and England.”
Womble Carlyle Chair & CEO Betty Temple told the Wall Street Journal, “Our value proposition is delivery of Wall Street service at Main Street value. Because our cultures are both so open and transparent, we can do it with an alliance.”
Bond Dickinson Managing Partner Jonathan Blair said a partnership with Womble Carlyle will benefit clients of both firms. “'The US is the largest single direct foreign investor and trading partner of the UK and vice versa,” he told the U.K-based publication Legal Business.
