HOUSTON—Womble Bond Dickinson continues to develop its fast-growing Houston office and Energy & Natural Resources Sector Team with the addition of attorney Jasper Mason. He joins the firm as Of Counsel.

Mason focuses his practice on counseling oil and gas production and exploration companies and private equity firms in complex commercial transactions. These include acquisitions, sales of assets, and joint ventures involving upstream oil and gas assets.

His experience serving oil and gas clients also includes guiding companies in equipment acquisition, helping them acquire US Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) leases in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, and counseling energy sector clients in developing projects on state-owned lands in Alaska. Mason also brings his extensive previous work experience as a Senior International Negotiator for Hess Corporation and a Senior Legislative Analyst for IHS-CERA to serve his clients’ energy projects.

Mason currently serves as Chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Oil, Gas & Mineral Law Section and teaches Oil & Gas Law as a University of Houston Law Center adjunct professor. His experience in the energy sector also includes serving on the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) Board of Directors.  He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
