CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Eric Troutman spoke to the IAPP:  Charlotte KnowledgeNet Chapter on June 14. Joining him for his presentation on “TCPA: The State of the Law Post ACA International” was Mike Selle, Senior Company Counsel, Litigation and Workout Group, Wells Fargo.  

Selle and Troutman discussed the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and its current status.  They also explained key portions of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals (ACA) International v. the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) case. Attendees learned relevant case law, legislative, and regulatory developments that have occurred since that ruling.

Eric Troutman is one of the country’s prominent class action defense attorneys and is nationally-recognized in Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) litigation and compliance.  He has served as lead defense counsel in more than 50 national TCPA class actions and has litigated nearly a thousand individual TCPA cases in his role as national strategic litigation counsel for major banks and finance companies.
