ATLANTA—Internationally recognized patent scholar and LGBTQ rights advocate Timothy Holbrook will speak to Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys, staff and guests on Monday, June 24. The presentation will take place in the firm’s Atlanta office and be broadcast to Womble Bond Dickinson’s other US offices.

Holbrook is the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Law at Emory Law. He is a frequent commenter on patent law issues, having been quoted by CNN, the Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, Fortune and many other media outlets. His recent work has explored the impact of 3D printing on patent law, the extraterritorial reach of US patent law, and the function of patent disclosures.

He also is a leading voice for the LGBTQ community. His commentary and op-eds have appeared in various outlets, including CNN, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, and Huffington Post. He presently serves on the board of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund and previously served on the board of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia. He was co-counsel for former National Football League players on briefs before the US Supreme Court advocating for marriage equality.
