RALEIGH, N.C.—Raleigh and RTP Offices Managing Partner Beth Tyner Jones and attorney Liz Riley represented Womble Bond Dickinson at the 50th Anniversary celebration of Cooperating Raleigh Colleges on Sept. 24.

Cooperating Raleigh Colleges is a consortium of six institutions of higher education in the Raleigh area—Meredith College, N.C. State University, William Peace University, Saint Augustine’s University, Shaw University and Wake Tech Community College. The consortium promotes collaboration among the six colleges and universities, including allowing students to take classes on various campuses.

The 50th Anniversary celebration took place at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh. North Carolina First Lady Kristin Cooper spoke to the group, and Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane also attended. William Peace University President Dr. Brian Ralph currently chairs the Cooperating Raleigh Colleges Board.

Jones and Riley lead Womble Bond Dickinson’s Education and School Law Team.

Beth Tyner Jones has nearly three decades of experience counseling employers on all facets of employment law matters. She leads the firm’s US-based Labor & Employment Team, which represents employers in labor and employment litigation as well as counsels employers proactively to manage risk and to help prevent such disputes. She also is a leader of the firm’s Education and School Law Team and serves on Womble Bond Dickinson’s Firm Management Committee. Jones is the Managing Partner of the firm’s Raleigh and Research Triangle Park offices.

Liz Riley focuses her practice in school and higher education law. Her practice evolved as a business litigator with a passion for working with school leaders on the many issues facing schools, colleges and universities as they strive to deal with legal compliance and shifting campus demands in the ever-evolving world of education. Riley works with a variety of public traditional and charter schools, private schools, colleges, universities, foundations, education management organizations (EMOs) and charter management organizations (CMOs).
