Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office is now a sponsor of the Maryland Book Bank’s One-Millionth Book Giveaway. Later this year, the Book Bank will mark an incredible milestone-distributing its one millionth book since its inception in 2014.
On September 23rd, the Book Bank participated in the “Ravens Huddle for 100” volunteer event. Across the league, teams and community members are working together to reach the NFL’s goal of accumulating 100 million minutes of community service in honor of its 100th season. For this event, the Baltimore Ravens invited fans, players and all other NFL teams to the “Huddle for 100!” which was held in collaboration with the United Way of Central Maryland and a variety of charitable organizations, including the Book Bank.
The Ravens put out a “Caw to Action” for the event for volunteers to give 100 minutes of time to help shape what the community will look like for the next 100 years. Over 50 volunteers came together to volunteer alongside some of their favorite Ravens players, including:
- Dick Cass-President of the Ravens
- Franklyn Baker- CEO of United Way of Central MD
- Justin Tucker- Raven's Kicker
- Matt Judon- Raven's Linebacker
- Anthony Levine Sr- Raven's Safety
