BALTIMORE – Womble Bond Dickinson is proud to announce restructuring, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights attorney Lisa Tancredi joined the firm’s Baltimore office today. Tancredi has more than 25 years of legal experience and is well respected within the Maryland business community.

“We have followed Lisa’s work for some time, so we’re thrilled to have her join our team,” said Matthew Ward, head of the Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group and Office Managing Partner for the firm's Wilmington, Del. office. “Her experience adds even more depth to our lender-side capabilities, particularly in the Northeast Corridor.”

Tancredi’s clients include financial institutions, funds, sureties, receivers, landlords, businesses, suppliers and contract counterparties, purchasers and high-net-worth individuals. She represents these clients both inside and outside of bankruptcy court. She also works with agents and participating lenders in the syndicated loan space to address distressed debt facilities. Tancredi is the latest in a string of strategic hires for the firm’s Financial Services Sector team following the recent arrivals of capital markets attorneys Paul Fogleman and Vanessa Morris.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to join my practice with Womble Bond Dickinson,” Tancredi said. “The firm has proven itself to be a leader in the industry by being incredibly supportive of its attorneys and a tireless advocate for its clients.”

Tancredi joins a US team of more than 20 dedicated bankruptcy, restructuring and creditors’ rights lawyers who concentrate in the Chapter 11 and restructuring arena and represent clients across the country. Womble Bond Dickinson also offers clients a strong transatlantic team, with lawyers located throughout the UK and the US that regularly advise on cross-border and international matters.

Tancredi comes to Womble Bond Dickinson from Gebhardt & Smith and Venable before that. She is admitted to the state bars of Maryland, Delaware, New York, and the District of Columbia. Lisa is a past President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland (2014-2015) and a former chair of the Maryland Local Rules Committee (2013-2016). She earned her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech.
