ATLANTA—Mercedes-Benz USA Diversity and Inclusion Officer Tommy Shi offered the keynote address for Womble Carlyle’s celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month.

Previously, Shi served as the Corporate Development and Transformation Officer for Mercedes-Benz USA. Before that, he served as Counsel in the legal department, where he was responsible for commercial transactions, supervision of litigation, and overseeing intellectual property matters and general corporate matters. In all, he has been a member of the Mercedes-Benz USA team since 1993.

He currently serves on the board of directors of the Asian-American Legal Defense and Education Fund and is a past president of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey.

Shi’s June 1st presentation took place in the firm’s Atlanta office and was broadcast firm-wide. He discussed MBUSA’s diversity and inclusion strategy, and his duties in implementing this strategy.  He also related his experiences as an APA attorney over the course of his 25+ year legal career.
