BALTIMORE—The Community Law Center is helping Baltimore’s communities grow through pro bono service.

On Sept. 27, Womble Carlyle sponsored the Community Law Center’s Bus Tour highlighting the center’s work with the nonprofit community. Community Law Center clients shared stories about the work they are doing with pro bono lawyers.

Community Law Center empowers communities and nonprofits that lack the financial resources to pay for private legal representation. Through its programs, the center has assisted in the growth of hundreds of community associations and nonprofits, facilitated the revitalization of blighted land and vacant structures, reduced crime and nuisance activities stemming from residential and commercial properties, and helped communities and nonprofits accomplish their goals and achieve their missions.

Womble Carlyle’s Brian Meltzer serves on the 2017 Board of Directors of the Community Law Center. He also attended the tour.

Brian Meltzer practices in the area of corporate law, with concentrations in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital financing, and general corporate governance. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Baltimore office.
