In addition to speaking with the Wall Street Journal, new Womble Carlyle Chair and CEO Betty Temple also spoke with the Triad Business Journal during her first week in the firm’s top leadership role.

Temple discussed the firm’s leadership transition process and the evolving nature of the legal services industry.

“Clients really are in control, and they are looking for ways to solve disputes differently, to handle transactions differently. They're looking for a little more from their outside service providers. We have to be in a position to be that best choice,” she told the Triad Business Journal.

“We really want to grow in the sense of making sure our lawyers have the skills they need to make sure they can be trusted advisers for clients.”
