Womble Bond Dickinson’s White Collar Defense and Criminal Investigations team has been named a Top Three Finalist for the 2025 Southeastern Legal Awards, Litigation Department of the Year (Practice – White Collar Crime), presented by American Lawyer Media’s Law.com.

The Southeastern Legal Awards celebrates outstanding law firms, organizations and professionals who have made a substantial impact on the legal community through exceptional dedication and achievements. 

WBD’s White Collar Defense and Criminal Investigations team helps domestic and international clients navigate white collar crime and fraud, drawing from first-hand experience in regulatory, corporate, and congressional investigations. Lawyers on the team have served at the highest levels of the Department of Justice, SEC's Enforcement Division, the White House, U.S. Congress, and the country's leading United States Attorney's Offices. Team members are based in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, New York and Washington, D.C. 

“This recognition is a testament to the outstanding attorneys and professionals of WBD’s White Collar Defense and Criminal Investigations team,” said Joe Whitley, the team’s leader. “We are honored to be a finalist for this award.” Whitley is a former Atlanta U.S. Attorney, Acting Associate Attorney General and the first General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  

Winners will be announced on May 1, 2025, at The Whitley Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.
