National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Approves Charlotte Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA) as New Affiliate

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), the voice of the Asian Pacific American legal community since 1988, has approved the Charlotte Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA) as its newest affiliate chapter.  Womble Bond Dickinson partner Sid Shenoy serves as President of CAPABA.

Shenoy and was recently joined by fellow Womble Bond Dickinson lawyers Tony Chen, Kevin Lyn, Gemma Saluta, and Joann Waters to represent the firm at the 2017 NAPABA Convention.

NAPABA represents the interests of over 50,000 attorneys and over 80 national, state, and local Asian Pacific American bar associations. The organization engages in legislative and policy advocacy, promotes Asian Pacific American political leadership and political appointments, and builds coalitions within the legal profession and the community at large. NAPABA also serves as a resource for government agencies, members of Congress, and public service organizations about Asian Pacific Americans in the legal profession, civil rights, and diversity in the courts.

Sid Shenoy, Co-Chair of the firm’s Public Company Advisors Team, focuses his practice on the representation of public companies in securities transactions, including offerings of debt and equity securities, tender offers, exchange offers and repurchases, as well as mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions. He also counsels clients with respect to ongoing SEC compliance and related corporate governance matters.

Alysja Carlisle strategically advises corporate clients in complex business transactions, including private equity and venture capital financings covering many industry sectors including technology, manufacturing and healthcare. She also assists entrepreneurs and start-up companies in formation and private Regulation D offerings.
