Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Masami Tyson will be participating in an event to promote and celebrate the success of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields.

Tyson will be a speaker at the International Women’s Day event in Cleveland, Tenn. on Thursday, March 9. The half-day event is presented by Million Women Mentors Tennessee in collaboration with Learning Blade, United Way, WiM Tennessee, the TN-China Network, and McKee Foods.

This event is designed to showcase Engineers Week 2023, World Engineering Day, and International Women’s Day by sharing stories from national and international leaders who are advancing and embracing equity for girls and women in STEM fields. Through this event, the speakers hope to inspire students and others just starting their career journey to explore STEM and international career opportunities.

Tyson will be joined in the presentation by:

  • Dr. Neslihan Alp, VP Academic Affairs & Provost, Pennsylvania College of Technology; 
  • Dr. Raga Ahmed, Associate Professor, UT Chattanooga College of Engineering; 
  • Umran Beba, Partner, August Leadership; and
  • Dr. Veronica Herrera, Language Teacher, McCallie School.
