Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Masami Tyson was a speaker at a symposium on The U.S.-Japan Security Alliance and Economic Relations at Work in Tennessee. The event took place on March 1 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tyson took part in a panel discussion on “Advancing U.S.-Japan Economic Relations.” She was joined in the discussion by Eurasia Group Director of Japan & Asian Trade David Boling and Mitsubishi Corporation Corporate Staff Section Advisor Takuji Tanaka.

The U.S. and Japan are facing a transformative time in history with universal values under attack by powers willing to use military force and economic pressure to advance their interests at the cost of international norms. This symposium engaged experts in both military and economic security to examine how the critical bilateral alliance between the U.S. and Japan is evolving to meet new geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges.

Hosted by the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy and Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, the symposium was part of Sasakawa’s U.S.-Japan Strategic Alliance series.
