Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Masami Tyson has been appointed to the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority’s Board of Commissioners by State of Tennessee leadership. Tyson has also been elected to serve as Secretary of the Board, and she holds the position of Vice Chair for the Board’s Management Committee and is a member of its Operations Committee.
The Authority oversees Nashville International Airport, currently the fastest-growing airport in the U.S. The airport is undergoing a $1.4 billion renovation and expansion campaign that will add two concourses, a new air freight building, terminal roadway improvements and additional upgrades to further enhance the traveler experience. The new International Arrivals Facility is scheduled for its grand opening on September 25, 2023.
“Nashville is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and having a highly efficient, first class airport is critical to sustaining this success,” Tyson said. “I look forward to working with the Authority and the other Commissioners as we strive to make air travel here the best it possibly can be. I am especially excited play a role in recruiting direct flights to Asia and additional ones to Europe, as Tennessee and its surrounding states are home to so many international businesses and residents. All of this is well-aligned with Womble’s global business initiative and strategy.”
