Washington, D.C. — Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Kevin Lyn and Sonny Haynes attended the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Annual Meeting on Sept. 24 at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C. Lyn is Chair of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Diversity Committee and Haynes is a 2018 LCLD Fellow.

The LCLD is an organization of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners dedicated to improving diversity in the legal profession, particularly within the leadership ranks. The meeting explored and discussed best practices in using artificial intelligence to expand talent pools, using technology to drive pay equity, collaborating for change and promoting diverse teams through collaboration.

Kevin Lyn is an experienced Intellectual Property attorney who helps clients prepare, prosecute and commercialize patents. He has counseled clients on matters related to mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, business method, software and Internet-related technologies. He serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

Sonny Haynes uses her litigation experience to help clients meet their objectives, whether in federal and state courtrooms or at the negotiation table. Sonny’s litigation practice includes representing a variety of clients from complaint through verdict and on appeal. She has represented clients in both federal and state courts and has appellate experience in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of North Carolina, and the Court of Appeals of North Carolina. Her skills and experience in pretrial litigation include extensive motion practice and expert witness development.
