Description: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) conducted Auction 105 for the long-anticipated offering of mid-band spectrum known as the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS). CBRS spectrum, located in the 3.5 GHz band, will use new and efficient dynamic coordination technology. The county-sized Priority Access Licenses (or PALs) auctioned will create opportunities for mobile and fixed providers, cable operators, and other stakeholders for 5G wireless broadband and IoT as well as to provide private network, in-building, and other services.

Bob Silverman and Marjorie Spivak of Womble Bond Dickinson provided an overview and guidance of the hurdles and pitfalls of this spectrum auction and the application process.
